AZUEBAR

Located in the Sierra Espadán, 300 meters above sea level, its origins go back to the Bronze Age.
The unique Peña Ajuerá was the place where the prehistoric settlement was located.
His castle was integrated into the defensive system of Segorbe.
In its term is born the spring of Sas, of highly appreciated waters, which were already bottled at the beginning of the 20th century. A must-see is the Mosquera Valley, emblematic corner of the natural park.
In its festivities you can taste two typical dishes: the pot of San Mateo and the fritters called “farts of friar”.

Populated from prehistory, in the Sierra de Espadán, Azuébar reveals elements that marked his past. In the highest part of the town, the castle shows us the vestige of a medieval period. In the historic center, the church, from the seventeenth century, has an ancient sundial and a Roman tombstone. Outside the town it is convenient to visit the incredible “Peña Ajuerá”, populated by the Bronze Age.

Only once a year do the times go through the archway. A phenomenon worth seeing.
