Located on a plain in the upper Palancia River at almost 600 meters of altitude. With remains of Iberian settlements, was linked to the Barony of Jérica. The Town Hall and the buildings of the Town Hall Square were reconstructed in the postwar period. It is a mandatory stop on the route of the springs where numerous sources flow in its term.
With centenary olive groves, the Ojos Negros Greenway runs through the municipality.
The Cueva de la Cerdaña, where nature was worshiped, is one of its treasures. Its products include olive oil, cherries and almonds.
